Hey all, Hope life is good for all of you. Been awhile since I posted on here, and last year I was looking into a concession trailer. Too much upfront cost. I now am working for my brother as a distributer. I drive a freezer truck and deliver Buckhead CAB, Bell and Evans Chicken. etc. He built his biz up 19 years ago with one truck knocking on doors. However, that's not so easy these days with all the gated subdivisions here in South Florida. I've decided to start cooking at events. The codes aren't as stringent, and the upfront cost is minimal. At first, I'll fly under bro's umbrella, as he is established in the community. etc. I'm having a hard time finding events. I don't want big ones to start off with, just a couple of thousand people is good. Pompano Seafood Festival is going on as I write this, however, I didn't have time to register as a vendor this year. Any advice from you pro's is greatly appreciated. Donna

Do a search here and do another on line (Dogpile Search Engine) there are numerous sites that list events. I listed several sites in a previous post. Jack

Check out different websites for cities in your area. The Chamber of Commerce sites usually list different events going on or planned in the communities they represent. A couple of the internet sites I have visited that list events usually only have the big ones. I came across one two weeks ago through my sister. It was a one day arts & craft show with 40 – 50 artists. I was the only food vendor there. They asked if I would be interested in their Fourth of July celebration and their fall festival. I did a two day antique and green show last weekend. This show was a little more established then the previous. I was one of three food vendors but since I was cooking on a small commercial charcoal grill the aroma of the cooking literally drove customers to may stand. They also asked me to come to their fall festival. Look for car shows, church sponsored craft shows, outside antique shows, and fall festivals. Most of these events will have low cost fees ($50 - $100) and will not be as picky as the larger events.
