As a child of the 70's, well really 80's I have fond memories of the trumbull shopping park. york steak house, reads department store restaurant and of course woolworths. what was the deal with the center area of woolworths?? they sold popcorn in those LONG tubes and ice cream too?? other memories are the artur treachers on the post road in southport, roberts restaurants up in the milford area, the royal footman in hamden. The branch of Jimmys savin rock on black rock tpke which is now a duchess. But when i see what the trumbull MALL looks like now it just really bums me out.

The Arthur Treachers in Southpoort sat empty for years. About two years ago, the building was turned into some Island-themed place that lasted about a month. It has now been converted into a drive-through Dunkin' Donuts/ Baskin Robbins and Subway. I cannot imagine how fat and lazy you'd have to be to go through the drive through for a cone. I weigh in at a little over an eighth of a ton and will at least walk for a cone...
