Kudos to you Saps!

(Please note that I am not referring to the crappy snack food of the same name. I would not wish those on anyone, although they might help you to accomplish your flatulence goals.)

Oh--one more thought came to mind. At the end of her career, the famed actress, Sarah Bernhardt, embarked on a farewell tour that actually took many years to complete. Perhaps you can emulate her.

I saw the Who's "final show" in the early 80's, and again in the mid eighties, the late 80's, several times in the 90's and as recently as 2002. Some of these farewell tours last longer than the career they are saying goodbye to. Hope saps farewell tour lasts as long. Funny stuff!

I thought it was "Plenty O'Toole" ("Named after your father, I suspect?")....

...and on the subject of farewell concerts....I recall a few years back, the Eagles said that they would tour again when "hell froze over." So, naturally, they named their reunion tour (a fine show, BTW), "Hell Freezes Over."

Has anyone checked the temp in hell today?

What is it about Roadfood that leads disaffected folks to provide us with dramatic departures?

Because as my beloved Z just said, "Guess there's no asphalt available to eat."

Hey, wait a minute, does this mean that if Z and I make DRAMATIC DEPARTURES will we be more respected? Nah, I guess not. We'll keep lurking and posting.

I don't think this is something unique to this site. Almost every group I have been a part of on the usenet or a board similar to this has these same melodramas. I think of it is the equivalent of the dramatic exiting door slam you see so much in movies, where the room grows quiet and everybody stares at the now vacated space of the door slammer...it also reminds me of a 6 year old who says he is going to run away from home and "you'll be sorry when I am gone!!!".

I hate to see people go, but what can you do. When you gotta go, you gotta go!

Did Sap say poker is not a sport? It's on ESPN! And... try playing a live no limit holdem tourney for 16 hours and then say that! Even a 10 hour internet tourney with only 5 min. breaks every hour is verrry grueling ( hours of boredom mixed witha few mins of stark terror !!! ).

This is all part of my exit strategy. This is phase 1. I'm figuring that the entire process will take 5 to 10 years.

I do believe this is the first time I've ever seen (or heard) that request in my presence ever.

My sister-in-law, who is the mother of my 3 and 5 year old nephews, asked "when do you think these boys will stop making and laughing at poop and fart jokes."

I assured her, that they'd be over it, before they were eight or nine...decades old. After that, it's not funny anymore.

OK, people, once again, you have gotten off-topic! We are talking about Roadfood! Focus!

After days of exhaustive research, singed eyebrows, three trips to the emergency room and loss of sensation in my navel and left elbow, I have come up with these conclusions:

Gravel, when suspended in a thick batter, can make a very nice, albeit crunchy fritter.

Concrete sinks to the bottom of the Frydaddy and just bubbles away (see "loss of sensation in left elbow" above).

Tar is absolutely useless. It just makes the Frydaddy terribly difficult to clean.

Now, I am off for good! And I mean it! See you in hell, boys!

Damn it, I forgot my purse. Ok, really, enough! Adieu!

...hey, has anybody seen my car keys?

I am fed up with all the snarky remarks and politics! Find somebody else to kick around!

...umm, who wants to walk me to my car? It's really dark out there and I think I heard a bobcat...

Road.
Food.
Road.
Food.
Roadfood

Hmmm...Well if you hit Montana during certain times of the year you could make your own hamburger on the hoof.

If you go to Death Valley during the summer I suppose you could cook stuff on the road. They actually have a rock egg cookoff in Baker. <at least they used to>

Personally I'd rather go to a diner.
