Mine were the pistacio and the coconut. I also liked the peppermint! Also, I used to (as an adult) get a coffee soda with chocolate ice cream.

ButterCrunch in a Sugar Cone. Burgundy Cherry would be my "fruity" second choice... AND Mocha Walnut would be a distant third.

Mocha Chip- I loved how the chip part was like chocolate shavings - not little chocolate bullets

Chocolate Mint Chip! (or was it Chocolate Chip Mint?) It was really good, even if it was artificially colored with some kind of green food coloring.

I grew up eating Howard Johnson's ice cream and loved early spoonful. In the early 80s, I discovered blueberry and coconut, two great flavors to eat together. A few days ago I tried Marble Slab Creamery's blueberry. Just like Howard Johnson's.

HoJo had the best ice cream it was really thick and flavorful - I worked at HJ on the NJ Turnpike 1972-73 before Marriott took over. I remember they had 2 different shaped scoops and when u dipped HJ required a bottom fringe on each scoop. The round scoop was .25 cents, the triangle shaped was .35 - i didnt realize it until later on that both scoops held the same liquid matter. Also we didnt have the space for 24 flavors so 12 was it - the one i hate the most was a red peppermint swirl - very sticky!

Coffee, scooped fresh from the HoJo stand in NYC's Penn Station while waiting for the LIRR train.
