I remember licking them, and wondering what would happen to someone who swallowed one. Never had the courage to find out.

I used to love the root beer flavor. I didn't know they made them anymore. I can vaguely remember the commercials.

I liked the grape ones. I used to chew them up and swallow. They made me burp.

Root beer, cherry, hated the cola. Used to put them in my mouth and live dangerously. What I liked to do was but 2 or 3 in a glass instead of one.

I use to do five of the grape jobs in a moonshine mesh when I worked in the tourist town of Gatlinburg, TN. It was pretty good as it did not dilute the better than 100 % alcohol that had been triple distilledin the mountians of East, TN Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Do you suppose that food packages carried ingredient lists in the early 1960s? I saw Fizzies mentioned on Food TV, and they said Fizzies were artificially sweetened, because using sugar the tablet would have had to be several times larger. I remember that while we enjoyed watching the tablets dissolve that the drink was ultimately not very good. A bitter aftertaste, surely the result of saccharine, but what 6-year-old reads the ingredients even if they were listed? This has reminded me of the Wizard of Oz peanut butter glasses in which we made Fizzies. I'd rather have those glasses back than the Fizzies!

I am like Michael. I remember more watching them fizz than drinking them. I remember my Grandmother always had these for the Grandchildren when we came to visit. I remember the Cola ones the best. Oh, the little things that excited us back then!!

My older brother and I used to have contests to see how many fizzie tablets we could put in our mouths at one time and how long we could last before spitting them out. I usually won. I hated grape, but liked strawberry and lime.
