new tag costs and renewal fees would seem like a good thread to start. pls list the year and model truck you own or trailer and how much you paid in new and renewal tag fees run in your county and state. ill post mine later this week when i get mine but an online search was a waste of time. thanks

Why not just call you county license bureau and ask how much they cost for your truck or trailer?

In Illinois rumor has it if it's a piece of equipment  like a cement mixer or smoker you don't have to buy tags. I took that as BS at first but after the 1st year I didn't renew my plates on 3 of my trailers. I have pulled them to events and never had any problem. Knock on wood it keeps going that way. But if I do get a ticket I know all I have to do is go buy a plate and take the receipt to court and they will throw out the ticket. I'd check my state if I were you guys. Some states if you can't haul items in the trailer it's equipment. Others are if it has wheels it better have a plate on it.
