i'm not a big ice cream eater, I prefer drinks like the Mocha Blast from Baskin-Robbins but I do have a quick question. On the rare occasion that I buy a carton of ice cream and bring it home, after a week or so i see little crystals on the ice cream. Does this mean it's bad? Is there something going on with my freezer? I eat it anyway but i'm just curious.

    for ice cream.

      That's just the dryness from the freezer extracting (condensing?) moisture out of the cream. You'll notice it has to have an air space and the ice isn't in the product.
      If it does then it must have thawed some and re-froze to a solid.

        place a piece of plastic wrap on the top of the ice cream, press it down on to the top so there is no air space, when you put the container back in the freezer.

        this will keep the ice crystals from forming so quickly and drawing the moisture out of the ice cream.

            Cajun King,I use the saran wrap method too. It works.
