in addition to Royer's

I'll bet you have heard of Royer's in Round Top, Tx. The pies are very good (the food too). And for the unfortunate diabetics: Bud can make you a great sugar free pie, but you usually have to call ahead.
But, besides Royer's, the Burton Cafe in the nearby small town of Burton (off 290) also makes great pies. My faves are the coconut creme and the chocolate. Burton Cafe makes a killer cheeseburger and great onion rings too. I love the Burton Cafe!

oops1 Sorry. (Maybe next time?) The Brenham area is pretty, lots of nice B&Bs, antique stores, and you can tour the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory!
I can also recommend my cousin's steak house (Country Inn on Hwy 36) in nearby Somerville. He cuts the meat himself and the small t-bone covers the entire plate!
