jack in the box question

Anyone know what the chain was called in the 80s with the blue signs. Maduary jacks or something like that. Are there any pictures of resturants and drive thru speakers before 1980? Did any of those jack in the box speakers survive after one was blown up in 1980?

There is an original Jack In The Box clown drive through sign/speaker/menu inside the San Diego Automotive Museum at Balboa Park. It has the .19 cent taco, .25 burger and other items on the menu. Jack In The Box opened it first drive through on El Cajon Blvd. in San Diego. The local joke at the time was "Why the clowns? Blow up the kitchens."

the best thing I like about Jack in the Box is their 99 cent car antenna "jack balls"....... I buy them about a dozen at a time when I'm on vacation in Vegas or LA. Like keeping a fresh one on my car, and it sure helps me find my car easier. (although the fact that my car is bright yellow helps too!!) but they lost me when they stopped serving their jack sauce on their jumbo jacks. they went back to just boring old ketchup. at this point their tacos are about the only thing halfway decent there.... but again, only in a fix....( late night drive thru to go along with your beers, etc.) ellen

The Tacos have a 'Cult Following' somewhat like the White Castle. I am one who really likes to get $5 worth of the Tacos and sit by the Railway tracks in the SoCal High Desert and watch the trains while enjoying the 2 for a buck treats!! Hard to do in the Louisville area where the desert is all green and there are no Jack in Box stands!!

JintheB is the only FF places we go. Spicy curly fries, bacon cheeseburgers, shakes; it's all fixed fresh and hot. You go Jack. Best ads and antenna balls too.

"Jack in the Box" left Michigan years ago, but I will never forget their tacos, even thou, the nearest "Jack in the Box" was at least 200 miles east of where I live!

Jack in the Box briefly changed their name to "Monterrey Jacks" in around 84 or 85, but brought the Jack in the Box name back after less than a year.
