kfc's double down...

surprised i haven't seen a thread on this yet. i thought it was decent. really overstated as far as how unhealthy it is, i didn't think the chicken was that greasy, and it was hardly fried. good size pieces. the sauce was good, not much of it in there though. bacon was ok. i asked for light on the cheese and got the pepperjack. filled me up, but didn't leave me feeling sick. anyway, worth trying, but wouldn't get it again. not enough sauce considering the amount of chicken you get.

Having had one of these a few weeks ago with my coworker Jed (aka "Will Eat Anything Once!"), my main comment was "too much salt". Otherwise, not bad, but nothing I feel a need to repeat:

my first thought after eating it was "WOW this would be good with a bun" Only have had one and it was enough.

I tried one yesterday and it was nothing to write home about. The cheese was melted, but it needed more sauce. It was also too salty. It would have been better with some lettuce and tomato and more sauce instead of the bacon.

Niagara I hear it tastes like salty grease. What a surprise. I have not had the Double Downer but had the new chicken by itself... Niagara just about summed it up. This would probably taste better with extra crispy chicken. MHO
