i wish there were white castles, or a decent clone like krystal's, out west...... :( i'm certain they would be a hit as there are many easterners here now...

Tried Fuddrucker's trio of mini burgers recently and found them to be quite good; juicy, size appropriate to the bun, and a good flavor. I added various pickles, peppers, and onions to them from their fixin's counter. I'd order them again if visiting Fuddrucker's. Overall, I think their burgers are pretty good.

While I've always had very good luck with Steak 'N Shake's service, I've never found anything they sell worth being served. On the road we'll occasionally stop at White Castles and Waffle House as we don't have those in Milwaukee and at home we'll do Popeyes once yearly but that's it for chains for us. I'm curious. Why was the original post flagged as inappropriate?

marky's "dried-out piece of crap" description sure doesn't sound like any Steak n' Shake hamburger I've ever had, and I've been eating there for over thirty years. I love the famed Steakburgers, and I find myself wondering if marky could actually be thinking of a Culver's burger ( a mediocre Steak n' Shake wannabe. )

I've always thought the only reason for Steak n' Shake was their shakes, which are stupidly expensive but occasionally worth it. Their burgers...meh. They're not bad, but they're overpriced for what you get. The only reason I ever eat one is if I'm going for a shake and need food as well. I'm never disappointed because I don't expect much in the first place, but I'm never impressed because it was better than expected either. I just find it funny the last 5-ish years how EVERYONE is doing mini-burgers all of a sudden. Because somehow you feel like you're getting more food when you're actually getting (maybe) as much meat, but with a bunch more bread? Me, I'd rather get a real size burger instead of filling up on hamburger buns, but to each their own.

I think 'Steak-N-Shake' burgers are horrible. They are dried out and too thin in my opinion.

I've been wanting to go to Steak & Shake, but my husband won't set foot in one. He was at a job where Steak & Shake "catered". I won't put the words on here that he used to describe it.
