Too many people unscrupulous people were coming in claiming the lost lobsters which weren't even theirs. So they closed. Elsworth doesn't even let you put up pictures on telephone poles of your lost lobster anymore. From June until October, many pet lobsters are lost and never found.

Hello All, Sorry, Jim, can't help you. But why does every sea coast town in Maine have a place called _____ (fill in name of city or regional point of reference) Lobster Pound? Here in Virginia, Scorereader, we are trying to help those seeking their pet lobsters. From November to May, we have pictures of lost lobsters on the sides of our cases of beer. So far, 39 lost lobsters have been reunited since 1973. Hurrah. Jim, I hope someone, not a fool like me, can help you on your question. Take Care, Fieldthistle

In the City of Chicago, beginning midnight, December 1st, any lobster located next to the curb on a street designated as a "snow route," is ticketed and towed to the pound. The ticket is $50, the tow is $75, with additional charges for each day the crustacean is not picked up. Most are claimed the next day. Last year, it cost me over $200 to get "Pinchy" back from the pound and to make matters worse, his under body was severely damaged because he was flat towed instead of flat bedded. One should never, ever drag a lobster. CSD

CSD They just don't slap a boot on them and be done with it? I hear that's how it's done in Bahston.

Nah! We sent the boots out east years ago to keep our main arteries flowing. If we kept the boot, there'd be no place to park. I hear the boot was replaced a while ago with the roll. We don't have lobster rolls in Chicago.

I don't know about cow tipping, but I do enjoy an early-season hunt for Wilson's snipe. They're not bad eating, either.

quote:chicagostyledog Posted - 12/02/2005 : 11:59:37 Isn't that Ron Jeremy holding the net? If it is, it's not lobsters he's prowling for. My god Chicago most people would of recognized the guy holding the net ( and that is a net he's holding in his hand) as...... Danny DeVito or John Billingsly. Perhaps you have been in the sausage business to long or your just an old movie buff that hates like hell to give up his old VHS tapes...............
