Pancakes as Dessert
-
Wed, 09/29/04 11:55 AM
Had breakfast at one of my favorite places--The 5 Spot in Seattle. The special pancakes of the day were chocolate with peanut butter sauce on top. I think there were also some choc-chips there too. My husband ordered them but I managed to put a little dent in them too. We still couldn't finish half of them. It was just too much. Anyone out there like there breakfast cakes like dessert?

I've never had pancakes as dessert but i guess there are dessert crepes. How about waffles..Ive seen recipes for chocolate and expresso waffles. I bet that would be good with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, whipped cream and choc sauce.

We used to have pancakes, bacon, and sausage for dinner once in a while. Guess it's a German thing?

I've never had a dessert pancake, although they sound good. I'm usually too full of bacon.

Same here JT1, I've never had a dessert pancake, I don't even think they look that good, just give me a good old fashioned buttermilk pancake with butter and syrup and I'm a happy guy.

Delicious! When everyone's full and you have leftover batter, pour out a big one or two on the griddle and put the results in the fridge for later. Later, smear them with some homemade apple butter, roll 'em up into a tube and snack away. One of my favorites.
