ANYONE REMEMBER THIS SNACK FROM THE 1950'S? THEY CAME IN A GLASS JAR WITH A BLUE SCREW-TOP LID AND A BLUE LABEL. THEY WERE LIKE A CRISPY FRIED DOUGH. WOULD LIKE A CURRENT SOURCE OR RECIPE. THANKS, RICH

I not only remember these delicious snacks, but have a jar in my cupboard. Still vacuum sealed. Would surely enjoy opening, but know if I do, that's it, then they're really gone forever.
Does anyone know a recipe for these ? I'd like to make some, and satisfy my craving. They were like potato chips, you couldn't eat just one.
Nabisco took over baking them in the USA for a while, then dropped the product.
Don't suppose they're still made in Sweden ?!

Hello Snappy Fans,
My cousin is a hot shot with Nabisco. I sent him an e asking him to look into ownership of the recipe. He is out of the office. I thought they were made in Louisiana, not Sweden. My big fear is that they were made with MSG which generally does not cause me problems. Whatever the mix, Snappies left an indelible impression on a lot of taste buds. What makes you think they were originally made in Sweden? You could be correct. I can't fathom an unopened JAR! Is there an ingredients list on the label? I used to save for Snappies and could only buy them in Richmond Va.

Hi,  I was born in 1963, so I do not remember Snappies, but I have a vintage blue and yellow Koeppen's Snappies' tin.  On the tin it describes Snappies as "A Unique, Crispy Delicacy for the Cocktail Hour".  The backside of the tin says "Made in the U.S.A. by Ernst Koeppen, Oradell, NJ" and the Ingredients are listed as follows:  Flour, Vegtable Shortening, Baking Powder, Salt, Sugar, Cheese and Spices.  That's about it for the information that I can contribute to your forum.  Those Snappies must have been pretty darn good, sure does seem like you guys enjoyed them!!
