Good White Icing Recipe

I am looking for a good, bakery style white decorator icing recipe - not a buttercream, but a shortening recipe. Something that will taste really yummy, make excellent decorations and can also frost the cake...can you help?

Mix 2 cups vegetable shortening, 2 tsps vanilla (You can substitute 1 tsp with 1 tsp of butter flavoring), and 2 tbls milk slowly in mixing bowl. Gradually- and slowly- add a 2lb bag of powdered sugar. Beat until fluffy and spreading consistency.

1 1/2 - 2 cups shortening (preferably hi-ratio for that bakery-style taste), 2 lbs confectioners sugar, 1 pkg dream whip, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tsp clear vanilla, 1 Tbsp clear corn syrup. Mix together until smooth. This is a great buttercream, tastes great, crusts well and is easy to make!
