Gawd.. That makes me feel old reading some of those things.....
But a good site, non the less.

Well that was fun. I'd forgotten most of that stuff. Boy, some of that stuff was nasty! I vividly remember the taste of that candy lipstick and the Space Food Bars! Somebody even made reference to Flying Saucer candy which was perfectly tasteless. Unless, I missed it nobody mentioned those time candy "pies" that came in a tiny fluted pan with a little spoon.

i'll let you know how old i am..i remember getting a box of kellog's cereal for the free prize..a battleship you put baking soda and vinegar into and the ship would go all around the bathtub.

And they also had a "frogman" which did the same thing if you put the baking soda/vinegar in his flippers. Frosted Flakes box, I believe.

Glittered macaroni glued onto paper plates at Vacation Bible School
Lunch boxes with a Thermos...that broke, and going home for lunch from school

Jumping on the black hose that sounded the bell at the gas station.

Burger, fries and a malt at the Wichstand drive in.

Candy bars for a nickle, Hostess cupcakes or fruit pies for 13 cents.

Cork liner under the bottle cap on the glass bottle of soda.

Having to drive all the way from Capistrano to Tustin for McDonalds. (40+ mile round trip)

The first corporate fast food place to hit town, and it had a drive thru! (Jack in the Box).

Back when KFC was actually good food.

TV dinners in aluminum trays.

The amazing, expensive, unattainable RadarRange.

No Ed, never made it to the Skipper's place. My Mom would have nothing to do with seafood. In fact, my Dad and I had to eat our sardines out in the yard, she wouldn't allow them in her domicile. He let her win that battle, while putting his foot down in the battle over his playing baseball after work in the BofA league. She lost that one. As he used to say, "In marriage, a man has to choose his battles as well as which hill he's gonna die on". Good advice from the old man.

I think there was a "tennis shoe" called Red Ball Jets. (maybe made by Converse)

Wow. We have an old crew here. I don't remember any of that stuff! Zman is still making Jello in his baby blue leisure suit, watching Bonanza and I Love Lucy.
