Well dinner is over and it is a great recipe. I am not a southern boy who knows Bar-B-Q upside down and backward, but I thought it was scrum-thious.
And sooooo easy.
Let me explain that I live alone and cook for myself and my taste buds are old ----------so I may like something that the real Bar-B-Q experts would give a bad rating to--but I liked this a lot.
I took a whole chicken made by Mr Perdue and skinned it. Then I sliced off two
big steaks of chicken breast ( they go in the freezer for future consumption, probably when the lovely MaryAnn is in town). Washed the bird. sprinked it with salt and pepper inside and out and set it aside. Then I took a bowl and mixed together
3/4 cup of some bar-b-q sauce I found in the fridge
3/4 cup ketchup ( Hunt's)
3 tablespoons of brown sugar
1 clove of garlic (minced)
1 tablespoon of Wood-sta-sheer (Worcestshire---the English don't know how
to spell) sauce.
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 teaspoon of cider vinegar
and some Tabasco --depends on your constitution and your flame retarding
ability.
Once that was all mixed in a big bowl I took the chicken and plopped it right into the mix and made sure it was covered all over. Then put the bird in the crock pot and poured the sauce over it. Turned the control to low and went off to church. Seven hours later it was done. Probably was done before that but I wasn't ready till then. There was no nead to shread or pull or do anything--just make two piles---one for meat that had fallen off the bones and one for the bones the meat had fallen "offen". And brothers and sisters it was
dee-lish-ious. Mashed spuds, corn on the cob and cold beer to wash it all down. Goooooood Stuff !!!!!!!!!!!
