HEY~ I know Foie Gras was "outlawed" in Chicago. Does that mean Hot Doug's doesn't make their "DUCK FAT FRIES" on Fri. & Sat. anymore? Just Curious!!

I dont think the birds liver vs. the fat content thru out the bird has anything to do with Chicagos new law. I think they just dont want birds raised for the liver content alone.. Fat is scrap (what little there is in the bird). Liver is gold.

I didn't get to try the duck fat fries, 'cause I didn't get there on Fri. or Sat., but I am still interested in trying them when I'm back in Chi-Town!!

I understand outlawing foods where the practices of obtaining the food are deemed inhumane(to a point)But we are always preparing our animals for slaughter(in the food industry)We keep baby cows in tiny containers to get veal, we pump our chickens full of solutions to speed their growth,we essentially raise sheep, cattle and pigs as our own and then reward them with death.I guess i just dont understand where one is to draw the line??
