We am getting ready to order some Pecans for Holiday gift boxes and baking. We want to buy about 10 lbs of Roasted/Salted Pecans, and a couple of pounds each of the Praline and Chocolate or Toffee Pecans.

On an old thread on this site we had a couple of references for sources, but one of them is not valid anymore.

Have any of you had good experiences ordering Pecans (or Cashews) for your use? Please provide a link or web address if possible. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I got some really great pecans from queenb on her last trip to Anchorage. She's from Georgia so I Googled Georgia pecans and came up with this firm in Athens (we all know who lives there!)

In comparing prices for the nuts at all of the links so far the average is running in the $11 to $13 dollars a lb for what I am looking for. Thats about an 80% increase from what we paid two years ago when we bought a bunch of pecans. I figured their would be an increase, but not the big jump I am seeing. Any other sites with lower prices?
Keep em coming!!

We may use some Hickory Nuts. Our trees are close to 'dropping' time. If anyone is close to us geographically and want some Persimmons, our three trees are beginning to drop them too. Contact us and bring containers.

The deer are here every night driving the dogs nuts!

Sunnyland Farms does a terrific job. Their fruitcakes are good, too. I am now preparing my Christmas order to them. The pecans are outstanding.

Al, you were in the middle of pecan country last week and didn't get any? Shame on you. But the Sunnyland site is a good source. We usually get as many as we need from local contacts.

You can check out Pape's Pecan House in Seguin,Texas.
Their web address is www.papepecan.com.They have been there for as long as i can remember. Not sure how much they would charge.I have my own tree at home,so i just pick them up off the ground. There are even trees in Schertz Park, and you wil see people picking them up.I like the paper shell pecans cause they are easy to crack.

I order online and also buy at the pecan house at Ellis Pecans in Vienna, Georgia.  They have a web site.  I have been buying from them for at least 15 years and they are wonderful.  You will not be dissappointed.  I prefer the Stewarts.
