In Houston its Le Peep. On weekends for breakfast if you don't get there early expect an hour to and hour and a half wait. But the Southern Benedict is worth it.

Sarabeth's and Barney Greengrass in NY routinely have multi-hour waits on weekends. That probably goes for a lot of other places too, but they are my favorites and it drives me nuts.

I waited about 45 minutes to eat at Tempo cafe in Chicago once. The problem there is that there isn't any place to wait inside and it was COLD!!!

I was told I would have to wait about an hour at the Cottage in La Jolla California, and the seating area was quite large. Since we have two small kids who needed breakfast right away, we couldn't wait. Alas, I have not been able to step into their hallowed halls as of yet. Next year will bring another opportunity though.

The busiest breakfast place I've been is Lou Mitchell in Chicago. I was close enough to the kitchen to see the amazingly fast line cooks feeding hundreds and hundreds of people quite efficiently.
The second busiest place is a place that isn't open anymore. It was called NuPars or maybe New Pars and was in Venice, CA when I lived there. On the weekends the line would be out the door and nearly down the street, but it went pretty quickly. I never felt rushed there, though. 3 eggs, grilled walnut wheat raisin bread and potatoes were 45 cents. Coffee was about 35 cents.

Just about any Cracker Barrel restaurant along route 1-95 is crowded all morning from the looks of the cars we see parked outside and the peope waiting and rocking away on the porches.

The Buff Restaurant in Boulder, Colorado. At least I THINK it's still there. The locals stand in line every morning. Or Dot's Diner, also in Boulder. Cafe/diner style breakfasts.

Look again. They're open at 9 on Sundays and 10 on Saturdays. They serve all kinds of great brunch items.

There's a 5:00 in the morning as well as the evening? I'll have to see that to believe it.
