Also slow here on a cable connection.
Kangolpimp has provided more useful detail than any of us previous posters, all of which is true/correct. In addition, I've noticed the message preview feature to be the slowest element of all, at times totally not working.

For the last 3 or 4 days, the site has loaded exceedingly slowly for me. Not the home page, and not the main forums menu - both of these load normally, but to bring up an individual topic, or waiting to see that my reply has posted, can take up to 2 or 3 minutes lately. This was not the case until a few days ago.

If we need further evidence that the site is behaving erratically, how did your post jump ahead of mine, Liketoeat, when you had included what I had said before you as part of your response to this thread? *scratching my head*

I'm experiencing the same, the home page has been slow to fully load and when I get to the forums, the space where the purple folder for unread messages is blank. In some cases when I try to open a message, I get a gray screen. This has only been in the last 2 days. I am on T1 and have a computer that is souped up for graphics. I hope this helps the webmaster fix this.

Sorry to cause the confusion, kangolpimp; perhaps I did this in an improper, or at least not the best, manner for which I apologize. But what happened is that I'd entered my post containing the current top line only prior to your post. Then when seeing your post following mine, I simply edited (added on to) my post the comments re your providing more useful info than any of us earlier posters had done and the comment re the preview feature. Perhaps I should have made the last two lines of that post a separate post rather than an editing of the original one. LTE
PS - I started on this post prior to your noticing my editing of the original one, got detracted, and only posted following your subsequent post. I'm going to get off this topic; fear I'm only adding to possible confusion on the parts of subsequent readers.

Or perhaps, minced, to put it better.

Maybe the healthfood police are slowing the "arteries" of roadfoodies everywhere.

We're on a true T1, and it's been very boggy. The menus on the home page have taken forever to appear.

Out here in the 'Heartland' we get on-line by asking Sarah to connect us when she gets finished talking to Nellie down at the library...Well almost. I use AOL and the best dial-up I can ever get locally is a 31,200 connection. But lately the site has loaded much slower than it has in the past. Other sites that I use regularly seem not to be effected. Have we overloaded the system on this site...Only Stephen knows??????

I have contacted both Sterns and Rushmore. I have not heard anything from either. Maybe they have hunkered down. Obviously something happened to the site.

    Maybe they got goobered

I'm on cable, too. It's been horribly slow since last week. I waited four minutes this topic to open.

I am aware of the slowdown, but I am also on my honeymoon!! We will try our best to fix it. Thanks for the heads up. BTW, I am giving Al-The Mayor-Bowen full admin rights (effective in 10 minutes) so he can delete these spam posts/users we have been seeing lately.

Following that advice, you'll get to practice it with lots of different wives over time.

Just out of curiosity, what was the problem We have blamed it on a lot of things from the goober to honeymoon intoxication.

Maybe the Mayor had something to do with the improvement. He is a politician you know

    Would be interesting to know.
