I'm with you, Anne. Never replace bacon with something else on ANYTHING. To remove the bacon from a Club is to remove the sandwiches' very soul....

Or something to that effect.

Well said, Billfish (and Pat and Ann and dd.) Don't mess with my bacon!

I noticed yesterday evening while strolling through my local Giant that they had rotisserie turkey breasts on sale.

I, of course, immediately thought of the Club Sandwich thread on Roadfoods, and bought one!

I have to say I made the ultimate club for dinner last night! Triple layer of course, with all of the appropriate trimmings.....

On another note......why is it sandwiches always taste better when someone else makes them for you?

The same reason a drink tastes better when the bartender makes it.
I cannot make my own drink at home!
That is why I drink wine at home.

I really enjoy the sandwich but I do not enjoy the prepackaged meats for the insides. The same goes for tomatoes, lettuce and other things. Perhaps it is because of some preservaties.

I have noticed that when you buy a prepackaged salad, if you touch it, it leaves an odor on my hands that I personally cannot stand. The same goes for some of the meats.

I tried prepackaged meats one time when Wal Mart switched over, never again.

Some studies have shown that the gas used to preserve the greenery also removes ALL the nutrients...basically nothing but hay for the canal.
