How would you season the batter that goes on your version of the KFC Popcorn Chicken?.
I'm thinking at least pepper and salt, but what else should go into the mix?.

Saw this listing...
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon onion salt
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon rubbed sage
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon ground oregano
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon basil leaves, crushed
1 teaspoon marjoram leaves, crushed finely
Then I saw this one.
Too numerous to list..
Here is the link...
I would say go with what tastes good to you.

Is it battered or coated/breaded?
I've never had it, but I think KFC's chicken is not batter dipped (?).

Just a guess ... you might try the flour-eggwash-flour, or flour-eggwash-finely ground breadcrumbs.
With the straight flour coating, I'd probably go with a bit of seasoning in the flour ... some cajun seasoning ... maybe a tablespoon to two cups of flour (or maybe some paprika and spices, lawrey's etc).

If the coating seems a bit thin, do the breading sequence twice to each piece ... particularly with the straight flour coating ... so, flour-eggwash-flour-eggwash-flour ..... and then fry them promptly, you don't want them to get gummy.
