We had some wonderful Halibut while visiting Lleechef and Zman in Alaska a year ago.
I must admit I like my fried fish "Well-done"...I want the crust to stay crunchy as I eat it, as opposed to getting 'soggy or limp' from the moisture in the fish that is done 'medium or less'. I know this runs contrary to recommended prep for fish, but thats how I like it.
And "No Tartar Sauce, Please", if there is Malt Vinegar available. The fish in the photo looks great!

Halibut is my favorite ocean fish.

A friend of mine was fishing in Alaska and caught a 300lb halibut. He sent me about 10lbs of filets. I cooked them several ways. Fried, sauteed and baked. Each way was super.

Unlike Al, the Mayor, I do like some tartar sauce with mine. I vary though and sometimes some hot sauce, sometimes a little salt pepper and lemon.

I know I'll be adding this place to my dining itinerary for my Northern Cal/Pac NW ballpark trip later this year.

There's only one ball park up there - Safeco Field, you'll have too much time on your hands.

The chowder picture makes it for me. When I visit relatives there this April, this looks to be the one can't miss restaurant on the itinerary.

We see little halibut on the east coast now. It was common, and fairly cheap, 50 years ago when I was a kid. Today, most of what little we get comes from the west coast and Alaska, and transport makes it costly. I usually make it a point to eat it at least once when I am out on the left coast. It is a very good fish.
