Is there anyone here that has roots in the Pohale region of Poland? Particularly the town of Nowa Biala? I'd like to hear from you if you do.

Here I thought we were going to talk about parsnips, carrots and the occasional radish.

Dearfolk,
Pohale? Idn't that one 'em crazy vegetables they sell down the got-'em-ever'than' food store? Whee dogies, reckon Granny Clampett could figger out how to cook it?

P. S. No, Jelen, I'm not making fun of you -- or anybody or anything else. It's my odd sense of humour shining through. Somehow I thought that turning Pohale into a ficticious foodstuff would work better if it were akin to some form of greens than some esoteric sausage.
Try going to your local library and see if they subscribe to the larger (pay) Ancestry website (rather than the smaller free one you can use online at home). It'll save you some money if you can hunt down your information without a subscription to Ancestry, but paying to join up just might get you even more benefits.
I recently helped a friend of mine trace his ancestry back to the city of Vrbas in the former Jugoslavia (Vojvodina, part of present-day Serbia). We even ran across these peoples' embarkation papers online, although they were in German and I couldn't read them (he could). You never know what you'll find online if you get lucky sometimes... good luck, and let us -- and me -- know if you need some help.
Oh -- and I'm gon' go off to that got-'em-ever'than' store an' hunt my buddy up some 'em Vrbas. I hear them's right good with onions and peppers. Be back direc'ly.
