Couer D; Alene, hamBurgers

I ate at hudsons on the main street in this beautiful town last week. Their burgers are ground fresh and very tasty and they just celebrated their 100th anniversy. They are located in a beautiful touristy town. It is small with about 15 sit down places but the quality and taste is super. If you are every in this remote area, I definately suggest you make a stop. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

My aunt and uncle live in Couer D'Alene.. I've been invited to visit, but yet to make it over to that side of the world. But the Wolf Lodge review has caught my attention, though thats a bit too much beef to ingest at once... http://www.roadfood.com/Reviews/Writeup.aspx?ReviewID=331&RefID=331 .. But I'll keep Hudsons in mind.. Tnx! (http://www.roadfood.com/Reviews/Overview.aspx?RefID=173)..

Any time I've been there, I've never made it to Hudson's ... usually just bad timing. Next time I'll plan better. Have been to Wolf Lodge and Frank's Diner in Spokane ... thanks to RF.

Unfortunately we missed Coeur d'Alene on our trip out of the Last Frontier since we took I15 out of Montana. The return trip is going to be the western route on I5 so it looks like we'll miss it again.

Paul- I couldn't agree with you more about Hudson's Hamburgers. I snagged a seat right across the grill so I could watch the grillman work. The burgers aren't particularly big or great to look at, but they sure are tasty. They would definitely rank in my top five burgers. Did you hit any of the other excellent places in the Couer d'Alene area?

wanderingjew- Definitely! And I think Tessaro's has the best burgers in da 'burgh, even though my last visit there wasn't as good.

I drove through there at 11:00AM during a hail storm, snow storm and a sleet storm. I was able to view it directly from interstate and it is definately rustic. Accorording to local folks, it is standing room only during the dinner hour. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN
