Hamburger stand...
-
Thu, 08/30/07 12:49 PM
There is a tiny outdoor hamburger stand off downtown Miamisburg in ohio. The lines run around the block. I stopped in one time. The burger patties were fried fresh to order. They used a pan like a shallow wok. The were deep fried and coated with ground blackpepper and a slice of american cheeses as soon as they came out. We waited over half and hour to get served. The pepper was so strong it made me sick. This place has been there forever and the locals can't get enough of it. Anybody else been there? britt

^ The hamburger you are describing is not that of the Miamisburg Hamburger Stand. They have no cheese to put on their burgers. They do fry (but not "deep fry") their burgers in a large iron skillet. They are the size of White Castle Sliders. All toppings are optional, albeit limited. Salt, pepper, onion (which can be strong), and pickle. That's it. No cheese or sauces (ketchup, mustard, mayo, 1000 Island Dressing, etc). Although the price has increased A LOT over the years, they are some kick a$$ non-traditional burgers!

The original post is from 2007. Several months ago I was informed that brittneal had passed away. May he RIP.

That's a shame. I didn't notice how old the post was. I remember reading it before.

Does anyone have a NAME for the place being described? It would be fitting to close this thread with an updated visit. (Just a suggestion!!)

The presence of cheese rules out the very famous Hamburger Wagon http://hamburgerwagon.com/ Thats the only place I know of, however, that would otherwise match the description brittneal provided

According to the poster of this Youtube video, the Hamburger Wagon changed ownership in August of 2008. Maybe they used to make cheese an option?

I always do the double when the family drives up there. We hit Ron's for a sausage pizza. We sit in the window seat so I can look at the hamburger wagon the whole time. Then for a snack we go get a few of those burgers with a good chunk of onion on it. sad to hear he passed.
