Stone Pie at Carbone's
-

Carbone's Italian restaurant, long known as a place for deluxe food, is now making some really wonderful stone pies. We had a classic "margherita" the other day that was out of this world.

That’s good to know I'll have to try it. It’s about time that this area with such a reputation for Italian cuisine starts to make an above average pie.

Michael, I imagine you've had a chicken or veal cutlet grinder at Franklen Giant Grinder and a cannoli from Mozzicato De Pasquale's both within walking distance of Carbones. I certainly enjoy both! Kevin

No! I haven't had either. I'm always focused on Carbone's (especially recently as we're doing their cookbook with them), but I will definitely check out that grinder and cannoli. Thanks for the tip. -- ms
