Chicken Cheesesteak
-
Wed, 01/23/08 12:20 PM
If you have ever had one what do you think of it? I used to live in Philly and have good chicken steaks. One version was the best (Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak-from Steak and Hogie factory. The sttle that I like is the type of meat that resembles a cheesesteak(chopped)-not strips of chicken. Let me know what you think.

I like it chopped up well. Have not tried buffalo, but I am a sucker for baffalo anything.

believe it or not the best chicken cheesesteak I have had is in Tequesta, FL (Bluemaxx's back yard) at a place called Rinaldi's, I think he hits it with a shot of balsamic and carmelizes the onions. AMAZING

I make them all the time at my work.. Its a staple on our menu.. We take a fresh chicken breast, grill it on the flat top, then slice it up and mix green peppers & onions, and top it with swiss cheese.. On a hoagie roll..Very popular. We call it a Chicken Philly.

Since then I always call it a cheese steak even though ever where out side of Philadelphia it is known as a "Philly" Q:"you want a cheese steak buddy" A: "yes please"

99 miles to Philly, here in NY...excellent chicken cheesesteak...i try to convince myself that it is less fattening than a regular cheesesetak, but to be honest, I don't think there is much of a difference!

I LOVE chicken cheesesteak. The best I've had are down the Jersey shore tucked away in a little spot on the boardwalk. Delicious. 3 styles, regular, hot, and nuclear. Nuclear is the best. Some places screw it up and don't slice the chicken up and it's just not right.

If you could email me a chicken cheesesteak, I would be most grateful, and suprised, seems they always get gummed up in the servers!

Between the nastiness of Pat's and the xenophobia at Geno's, coupled with the fact that they both make a greasy inferior product these days, there's no reason to get your cheesesteaks from 9th and Passyunk (sp?).

I love making my own, I especialy like it with chicken thighs since it is all dark meet and the juicy, but harder to work with. I saw Minute Steak or a similiar company is making chicken minute steaks.
