In a shaker...add ice...then OJ, champagne and a splash of grey goose....shake well, pour into a chilled martini glass...garnish with a orange slice. My version of a Tinimosoa.

"Tavatini" is my new favorite. It's Tava sparkling beverage and vodka.I was thinking about having an ‘Open Your Tava Party’ this weekend! Tava comes in wild flavors and is really good with rum or vodka. I just love it.

Don't know that it has a name...but vodka mixed with equal parts tonic and cranberry juice. Kinda sweet-tart.

I'm not much of a drinker, but I do like a Tanquerey and tonic w/ extra lime on a hot summer evening. I also enjoy lemondrops. And there is a cafe in the town where I live that has great chocolate martinis.

Dearfolk, No pun intended... I guess I'm old fashioned... my favorite drink is a screwdriver. But here's how I like it: start with nothing but 100% pure orange juice (no sugar added) and toss in a half-ounce of cinnamon vodka on the rocks, then serve it to me in a tall glass. Next hand me the Angostura Bitters and I'll add it until the drink begins to turn brownish... then it's ready. Reminds me of Grandma Carlton's Christmas treat: old fashioned bitter orange sections with cinnamon and a little sugar, baked in the bottom of the oven. That bitter orange tree (well, it's actually a bush) was there when they built the house in 1910, and last I knew it was still there. "That's the old fashioned Florida yard orange," she once told me. "That type of tree was planted by Florida pioneers as an ornamental, but this particular one is a volunteer. The fruit is too bitter for cultivation." She would have known; she was born in what is now Hardee County, Florida in 1884. Utterly Dead Soberly, Ort. Carlton in Ever-Amazing Athens, Georgia.

I make a mean pina colada ... I use the blender, and put in fresh bananas, coco lopez, pineapple juice, rum, ice, and just press the mix button... When I'm out, I like GOOD rum runners, mai tais, stuff like that... (unfortunately there are more BAD ones being made than good ones, it seems.. stuff that just ends up tasting so sickly sweet, or like cough medicine.. so when in doubt, I just try to order interesting hand crafted type beers, like belgian beers or Blue Moon, or Magic Hat stuff. The bf is what you would call a "real" drinker. He sticks to his grey goose on the rocks.

In no particular order: Margarita - various PHX locations or at home (Rocks/Salt; unless I'm at Z-Tejas) Mai Tai - Where else but Trader Vics Irish Car Bomb - Rula Bula in Tempe (actually anywhere they serve Guiness and don't mind you getting blotto) Whiskey and Squirt - My Aunt and Uncle's house. (known as the House Drink) Don't forget the Marachino Cherry! Single Malts straight up (not really a cocktail but...) Sipping Whiskeys straight up ( ditto...) Disclaimer: Desertdog believes in drinking in moderation. As always, if you have had too much to drink, ride with a friend or call a cab.
