Did anyone see "Babette's Feast"?
Here's some info on this great movie (it won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 1988): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092603/
I highly recommend it for all the food scenes, and it made me cry.
I loved all the food references in "Fargo"-- Took the edge off all the violence and foul language!
Marge Gunderson: "Oh, I just think I'm gonna barf... Well, that passed. Now I'm hungry again."
"Raising Arizona", another Coen Brothers movie had a lot of food in it, too. Mr. D-L and I particularly like the scene where John Goodman's character, Gale Snoats, is eating a fried chicken leg and he tells H.I. McDunnough (Nicholas Cage), "You gotta use your head, H.I." as he touches his head with the chicken.
Some food scenes from "Annie Hall":
Alvy Singer: "Annie, there's a big lobster behind the refrigerator. I can't get it out. This thing's heavy. Maybe if I put a little dish of butter sauce here with a nutcracker, it will run out the other side."
The split screen of Annie's "WASP" family eating a holiday dinner and Alvy's Jewish family eating theirs. And Alvy and Annie's first date at a NY deli where Annie orders pastrami on white bread with mayonnaise, tomatoes, and lettuce.
Other movies I've seen and enjoyed have already been mentioned: Big Night, Diner, Goodfellas, and 2001 name a few where I particularly remember the food.
