Technically in a suburb called Hales Corners, Fortune remains my favorite Chinese restaurant. They have two menu's, one serving very familiar Chinese or Chinese/American dishes such as your moo shu, curries, Hong Sue, Szechwan and Hunan dishes. The other menu serves items not found on most menus. As a reviewer noted you can have your jellyfish if you want and other things if you don't want. We passed on the spicy crispy pig intestines and ordered somewhere in the middle. It was a cross-cultural dinner what with several Roadfood folks along with some onmilwaukee.com diners. We had ten people, ten different items, all to share. All, to my tastes at least were winners. We had something called seafood superior soup which was a delicate crab based soup. Some of the biggest (yet very tender) oysters I've ever seen, loaded with Chinese fermented black beans and scallions. Spicy squid, prawns and smelt along with jalapeƱo and scallions. What we call "Twinkies" but actually are battered tofu wedges filled with minced shrimp, served with a spicy dipping sauce.

Wow. That was a fast post.

Thanks for inviting us Mike. We all had a great time. Rachel thinks older people are more fun than college kids.

Yeah! You got this post out quickly!
And the pics look great.

As Mike said - the food was (as usual) spectacular.

Service was a bit brusque, but we were having too much fun to care.

I just joined Roadfood.com today, and already I'm joining them for dinner! Yay!

It was nice meeting everyone (I already know MilwFoodlovers).

Oh, on an additional note - they served sliced Oranges along with the fortune cookies, and they were some of the sweetest, most delicious Oranges I've had in quite some time.

I'm only about four miles from there so yeah if somebody throws out a date and time, I'm almost always able to make it.

If you know when you won't have OT (or maybe on a weekend?), you should tell us, and we'll go on that date.
Tuesdays are usually out for me, but otherwise, I'm pretty much free most nights. Or even lunch on a Saturday.

I think lunch on a Saturday should be at Jake's.

I'll check with Mrs MFL but I believe we're off to Madison to give my mom her tax forms back. We are going to New Glarus and Monroe for some Roadfood if we do. I'll keep you posted.

MFL, keep us posted!!!

ETA (edited to add) I spoke too soon, there is now talk of overtime on Saturday. But keep me posted, miracles may happen!!
