There were two (2) local bakeries back in my hometown- Spiesmann's and Ketterer's....I think both are still in operation today, at least they were 8 years ago when we last visited- their Danish coffee cakes were to die for....in fact I brought some back with me on the plane. There is nothing like them in Big D- I know, I have searched high and low. And hard rolls- real hard rolls....oh, the memories, cause there is nothing here that comes close to a real HARD roll here in Big D either!

Just what is an old fasioned bakery? We have many old bakery's that only do bread and others that just do pastry. I can't walk by any of them. Chow Jim
