Screaming Yellow Zonkers - No Longer Being Made???

I noticed lately, that I could not find them at my local store and did a google search; found that they are no longer being made! After a bit of research, I found out that the parent company - Lincoln snacks - was bought out by Con Agra! Yet another buy - out by a conglomerate of a great food product. Every time one of the big corporations acquires a brand, they inevitably ruin it. This sucks!

They were my favorite.

This stuff was great hippie-college-student fare circa 1971. I found them in an independent store as little as a few months ago, but since I cannot eat sugar in any quantity, I eschewed them. Alas.
Sigh. I suddenly feel nostalgic.

I, too, found them in a Dollar Store a couple of years ago and bought a box. They were so sweet I couldn't eat them - I took the box to work and it was gone within minutes.
Somehow, to me they just didn't taste the same as years ago.
