I've been working on this Jaenicke sauce for quite awhile and I actually like it MORE than the Jaenicke sauce.
I always make what I call a double batch. Here it is:
2 cups of water
Tomato Sauce 30-32 oz.
4 chopped garlic cloves
4 tsp of salt
1/2 a white onion diced up (to cook in meat)
1/2 tsp pepper
1-1/2 tblsp Chil-O chili powder
1 cup of dark brown sugar
2 tblsp of sugar
2 tblsp of grape jelly
1 tsp of celery seed
1/2 pd hamburger
Cook hamburger with chopped up onion. Drain then add all the ingrediants. I usually bring to a boil and then simmer 30 minutes.
Serve on steamed bun length hot dog with chopped onion and cheese whiz or any other cheese or omit the dog completely.
YOU WILL NOT JUST EAT ONE!!!
Let me know how this turns out for you. I've went thru SEVERAL variations and I like this the best. As with most chili's it does taste better the next day but still good right away. My wife is VERY picky with food and she loves these. She calls them a Ronicky...LOL (I'm Ron
