Breakfast Guidebook

I just got a wonderful book on Breakfasts in Santa Fe
Breakfast Santa Fe Style, by Barco & Nye.

Santa Fe is quite a breakfast town, with green chile breakfast burritos heading the list and "competing" for best BB in town.
It lists restaurants where you can get good wakeup food. But even better, the book was written by two librarians and lists a suggested book to read with your meal in each restaurant!!! (usually a "local color" book appropriate to the restaurant's menu or history).

I was wondering if any other towns have such a book? It's a great idea.

I know of a few breakfast spots here in Boston that reading is verbotton.
More commonly on weekends a sign will say no newspapers allowed.

What? When I am alone, I always read and dine. My friends kid me about the amount of books and magazines I carry around in my automobiles. A restaurant would have to be pretty freakin' special for me to accept that restriction. What do they do, call the police if you whip out a paperback?

I would not go there. I often eat alone and reading material is part of my program.

To heck with them if they do not allow newspapers or other reading material.
