Strange variations in food - Sat, 06/14/08 7:44 PM
Have you ever noticed very unusual differences in the same menu item offered by different franchises of the same chain? Here are some examples of what I'm talking about:

*At my local Taco Bell (which is also my local KFC, and the only TB within 50 miles), the Grilled Stuft Burritos are so huge they might as well be called Grilled Overstuft. But when I get them just about anywhere else, they're really dinky, no bigger than their regular burritos. This is the only size variation I've noticed among Taco Bells.

*My two local Hungry Howie's produce totally different tasting pizzas. The one in my town (Oscoda) is always very bland, even with flavored crust AND the spicy pizza sauce, while the one in East Tawas is above average (despite the fact tht Hungry Howie's sauce has almost no flavor).

*For a while, every Wendy's in my area seemed to be seriously over-salting the fries. Now, the fries at said locations are almost unsalted and very bland.

No,I haven't really noticed anything lately. But the next time i go to Taco Bell or some place,I'll look.
I did see at the McDonald's at Loop 1604 and Blanco Rd. in San Antonio, that they had a steak and egg breakfast burrito, which they don't serve at the one in Schertz or Universal City.
It may depend on who is running a place too.
