Yes, it is. And I always have worried about ground turkey as a food service person-nothing good comes out of making some crap into something. In no way is any altered turkey product good for you.Always more sodium, additives, etc...we are better off with ham, bologna, etc...

I've always bought the Honeysuckle White 97/3 ground turkey and the breakfast sausage - the spouse could always tell the difference and would comment that it was okay - but....not as good as the real thing.

Now that this has happened the spouse is very happy that there will be no more ground turkey products purchased.

How to delete posts:
In a long box along the bottom of each of my posts are the words "Mark post as helpful", "Foreward message", "Manage message" and "Edit message".  I click on "Manage message" and up comes a large square box saying "Delete this message" with a small box below it with the word  "Reason".  I type in "old" in the small box, and right below this is a little garbage can followed by the words "Send this message to recycle bin".  I click on the garbage can and close the large square box (upper right-hand corner X).  And that is it.

Colosseum Mortadalla (undeclared pistachios): FL & IL
http://www.fsis.usda.gov/News_&_Events/Recall_080_2012_Release/index.asp

I do recall that, when walnut pesto first started to be made, a friend of mine, badly allergic to walnuts, had to leave a wedding because she just assumed the pesto was made with pine nuts, so I know that it is a serious omission. On the other hand, Black Bear (the Shoprite premium deli brand) tends to be reasonably high quality, so I'm glad it's a labeling problem and not t a quality issue (like listeria or e coli).

For those who are scratching their heads, apparently there are Andy Capp's Cheddar Fries mislabeled as Hot Fries, with the ingredient, soy, to which many people are allergic, left unmentioned. Although, frankly, selling Cheddar Fries as Hot Fries alone calls for a recall.

LOL Bart.   I'm also wondering about these blue plastic balls--I hope they're obvious, because I pitch the bag as soon as I empty my flour into my plastic storage bin, so would have no way of checking out production numbers.

That's not good; the phrase "dark chocolate" implies no milk, and there are a lot of people with walnut allergies, as well; I always check for them on the label of anything that has anything resembling nuts in it.

People around here feed the deer all the time. Some do it to draw them to areas where they can be hunted, others do it to draw them into their yards so they can enjoy looking at them.

Fish eggs are different from the eggs they're recalling for, though. Many people are allergic to chicken eggs, while they can eat fish eggs without a problem. But I totally get what you're saying.

"No illnesses are currently associated with Woodstock Frozen Organic Pomegranate Kernels and product testing to date shows no presence of Hepatitis A virus in Woodstock Frozen Organic Pomegranate Kernels. The company’s decision to voluntarily recall products is made from an abundance of caution in response to an ongoing outbreak investigation by the FDA and CDC. The organic pomegranates are imported from Turkey."

Concentrated Black Spiced & Decaffeinated Rooibos Chai (Botulism): WA
http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm359139.htm

As this is a particularly scary one, I went to the link. It's bottled chai, not dried (as should be implied by the problem being botulism), the brand is Harmony, and their product is, as shown, strictly distributed in the state of Washington (although the warning said nothing about online sales of the product). No bottles have been found with botulism, yet, but apparently a number were improperly processed, and therefore have the potential of harboring botulism.

OK, this one I actually went to the Somersault web site, because the recall notice made no sense. Essentially, Somersault makes sunflower seed crunch snacks, with various flavorings. Salsa flavored were mislabeled as "Sea Salt" flavored.

Now, all I have to figure out is why anybody would add milk to salsa.

Square Mile Original Hard & Spur & Vine Hopped Apple Cider (may be refermenting in bottle: bottles may burst): CA, OR & WA
http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm361713.htm

Recall Notice
SMCC is voluntarily recalling the products due to concerns that cider from the company’s first production run may be refermenting in the bottle, which may cause the bottles to burst under certain circumstances and can lead to potential flavor inconsistencies.

So, you can be blinded by a piece of flying glass, and, even worse, the cider may not taste as good.

Thank you for the clarification. As long as he doesn't mind, then I apologize. I guess your comments are more tongue in cheek than I realized.
A friend of mine recently told me to take life less seriously........

Athena Cantaloupes With No Label (Listeria): MI

This was on the news tonight, as the producer is here in town. The cantaloupes in question were on store shelves from July 23-26...which means 99% of them have already either been eaten or are rotten. Luckily, we're allergic to cantaloupe, or we'd have eaten at least two of these by now.

Coconut Tree Brand Mut Gung Non Ginger Candy (High Levels Of Lead):

For those scratching their heads (as I was), the name of the brand is "Mut Gung Non", so it is ginger candy, not non-ginger candy...

See's Dark Chocolate Blueberries (undeclared milk):
http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm365578.htm

I had a couple of disappointments with See's; I haven't bought from them in years. While their candies are mostly excellent, I had enough stale ones they stuck into the mix to not trust them.

It has not hit the FDA site yet but:

Pillsbury just recalled certain 8 count packs of Cinnamon Rolls due to broken pieces of plastic found on the production line
