Amy & I recommended the Friendly Toast to Stephen, mainly because we LOVE the place. The saddest part is that Portsmouth is no longer a via point for us, because we'd be eating there all the time.
The prices are relative to the experience, much like many NYC places with fabulous yet simple food. I bought pulled pork on a bun at Billyboy
's favorite, 'wichcraft, last week. It was $9 for a very
small sandwich -- but it was delicious, and I'd recommend that place to everyone.
Low prices for food, gas, etc. are in the past. We can pine for the old days, but we also need to think about how to maximize the time/money that we have. I'm always to pay for truly great Roadfood, and I will be the first to say whether or not it was worth it in the end. The Friendly Toast is well
worth the trip!
