Grilling oysters
-
Fri, 07/25/08 8:37 AM
I'm putting on a New Orleans feast for a wedding shower and want to serve grilled oysters as the first course. Any thoughts on a) what types of oysters might be best for grillings and b) where I might order them? Thanks.

Where do you live?I dont know about grilling them for such a large party but steaming them would be no problem.Do you live anywhere near the coast? That would make sure they are as fresh as you can get.

For raw shooters I love the kumamoto oysters, mild, good brine, sweet. Breaded in panko they make a great fried oyster too. For grilling though, you prob want something larger.

Chattanooga, TN. I'd have to have them shipped.
