I just had a nice lunch at a Greek seafood place in Astoria, Queens (traditionally a Greek neighborhood). It was good, and the price was right. It was a rather plain place, almost like a prettied up luncheonette, but the draw was the beautiful display of fresh fish when you walk in. Such attractive looking salmon, tuna, swordfish, shellfish, etc.mmmmm

I googled and found out the Greek Seafood Restaurant was a genre. It said there were a few in NYC that "sprouted overnight" , are rather good and also have very fresh attractive seafood on display.

Where else do these places exist? I imagine Florida...

There's a really good (MiamiDon are you listening?)and hugely successful place in Ft. Lauderdale called I believe the Athenian. They do fish great...It's all good there. The portions are huge. Reasonable and very good. It's on AIA..over the causeway. It is far superior to Mykonos (been there forever) just outside Coral Gables.

Greek food is great and usually a tremendous value.
