I just found the issue.  Apparently the Skype add-on is causing the problem.  Once I disabled it all was fine.  Weird.

Not 100% sure, but this could mean that person's message box is full.

Like some others, I too am unable to give a clickable title to a URL.
I insert the URL but the title remains greyed out.

Ok, I posted the above link (it's this page btw), and after highlighting the link, the insert/edit button comes alive, the "Insert/edit link" box appears but that's it.
I can't enter a "Title" and the "Target" drop down line remains a grey "not set".
I'm unable to move the cursor anywhere off the topmost "Link URL" line except to click on "Insert" or "Cancel".

I think they are trying to automatically format a link Steve instead of doing it manually ([ url= and so on [/url])

Im on IE6 and that works fine for me though as seen here (Using the auto formatter)

Usually i do it manually though..

Dynamic Logic- Not Ready for Prime Time Software Programming - Wed, 10/27/10 11:36 PM
0
This is about the third time that, while I am logging in,  a Adobe Flash image comes across the screen on the login page. Seems to happen about 10 seconds after calling up Roadfood, when I am about to hit the submit button after entering my handle and password on the login page. I don't know if the image is under the cursor at that point - moves too quick for me to make that determination. Anyway, up comes a survey request from Dynamic Logic. When I click on the banner on the upper right hand corner to decline the survey, I am returned to the login page. But, my handle and password got blown away. I have to re-enter it.

Well, for grins and giggles this time I started to take the survey to see what is at the end of the yellow brick road. There is a button to continue to your destination. It brings you back to the login page where the handle and password you entered have been blown away.

Be a yammerer and force them to recode their ad so it does not blow away any entries users made to the login page.

I cannot seen to change my location in my profile under the control panel. I does allow me to type in the new city but will not allow it to be saved. The right city shows ok  under the main "My Roadfood" but I just can't get the user control profile city to match. I am trying to change "Downey" to "Mission Viejo". Thank you.

I'm using Safari 10.5.3 on MacOS 10.6.5.

Attempted to edit my User Profile (particularly, I'm trying to change my home page to it's new url) doesn't work on either Firefox or Internet Expolorer.  Clicking the Save button just gives me an "Error in page" message down in the browser's status bar.

Well, as of today I still can't solve the problem described in the post above (#375). I go into my control panel, into the edit profile section, and change the city name from Downey to Mission Viejo. When I click on the "save" button, nothing happens. When I double check one of my posts, it still shows the old city. Help!

I had done that, Stephen. I just went again to "My Roadfood" and it shows Mission Viejo. However, my profile and the location box on the threads still show Downey. Do you suppose the Ghost of Roadfood Past didn't want me to move?

Stephen,
Still having problems. It seems I cannot change anything on my profile under any of the categories. I can uncheck, check, change the city location, etc. but it will not save any of the changes. In addition, there is no place showing to upload the avatar/profile photo in that section. Seems like I am completely locked out from making any changes in the user control panel. In My Roadfood, it shows the correct city, but that does not translate over to the forum. I have tried doing this in both Google Chrome and Firefox to see if there were any conflicts there but no luck.

Hi Stephen,
Decided to give it another try. Tried the link you recommended. That one shows the correct city. It is this one that is the problem----in the user control panel.
http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/editprofile.aspx
I can go to any of the categories such as city, time, etc. and change them, but when I hit the save button it does not save the changes. It is the same for all the tabs there....can't save the changes.

Yes, don't make edits using the forum.  I believe making an edit on "My Roadfood" updates the forum.

Maybe I'm confused, but on "My Roadfood" I just see the basics --city, state and my name. That updated and it's correct. It's the entire "user control panel" where all the tabs are that I can't change. That's where the save button has no effect over the tabs---personal info, feature preferences, additional options, avatar/profile photo and signature and comments where I haven't been able to change anything. I'm locked into the Eastern Time Zone and Downey and I can't get out!

Hi,
Safari and Firefox on Mac won't download working pdfs for RoadFoodOffline.

When I go to the RoadfoodOffline page ( and click on the map the browser goes to "http://www.roadfood.com/Insider/RoadfoodOffline/RoadfoodOffline.aspx?Locale=RegionWestern" waits for a second then a dialog pops up "Opening ReadfoodOffline.aspx" and offers me the choice of downloading the .aspx file.  I download it, but it's obviously not a pdf file and I can't read it.
Date of Occurance: 5/28/11, 10am PST and 5/26/11, 9pm PST
Browser: Firefox 4.0.1 and Safari 5.0.5 (tried both)
O.S: Mac OSX 10.6.7

All said and done, I can (and did) get a pdf, but only with Google Chrome browser.

BTW, it's a great download, with over 130 pages of info, but I thought you should know about the giant segment of users who won't be able to get your download.

When I tried this just now, it opened up "RoadfoodOffline.aspx.pdf"; the name could perhaps be improved, but I did get a pdf with Safari 5.0.5 on MacOSX 10.6.7.

1. I am unable to change my name (not username, real name) and location on the forum. Clicking the Save button doesn't do anything. Any idea?

2. To reproduce go into your profile, change your location/name, and click Save. If nothing happens, you have what I have.

3. Happened 5 minutes before this post.

4. Firefox 4.0.1 and Chrome 11.0.696.71 (tried both) on Win7.

Not so much a bug report as it is a feature request, but...

I browse roadfood using the mobile version of the forums. For the most part this works really well. There's one small problem, however... there's no way to see a poster's location in the mobile skin without switching out to the regular version. Could you add location to the profile screens? The regular display shows it next to the poster's name on every post, but mobile doesn't do that, so it would be great to be able to click through to someone's profile and get that info.

Thanks!

IE8 Freezes up - bad banner ad? - Fri, 08/12/11 7:34 AM
0
My IE8 under XP has also frozen up twice this morning. I think it is caused by a banner ad that is coded wrong and refuses to load. In other cases, I see young hotshot programmers testing code only against Firefox. They don't care if it doesn't play with the market leader. If you examine their code it probably does not comply with industry software standards, either.

I see references in my TIF pointing to a General Mills Bisquick ad. I don't recall it loading, so either that one or one at the bottom of the page refuses to run.

I've been getting that for a while, too.  The ad link freezes up and stops the page from completing.  If I reload a few times, it eventually reaches completion.  I'm using IE9.

Apparently, somehow I must have disconnected myself from receiving Instant Notification emails that I signed up to receive. How do I get reconnected so I can get my emails?

I've done that and it's still not giving me my emails including this one. I had to go into the "[Show Me All Unread Topics]" link to find your post.

Is it a recent issue, because our email server was down during the hurricane.  We just got it restored a few minutes ago.

Not a recent issue. I had instant notification on some threads for years. I even signed up for some new threads and nothing coming through. I think I must have hit the link that unsubscribes you at the bottom of an email Subscription notification. I've even re-subscribed to some of my old threads and nothing happens.  HELP!!

Thank you for posting that link!  I could not figure out how to get to it.  It seems to be saving changes now, although I don't think I can add a picture.

You have to have been a member for a period of time and have posted at least 30 times before you can post pix or links

Why is it that members can't post a profile pic? It would be nice to be able to see the forum members that we chat with....just wonderin. Does anyone else agree?

I have a problem.

I did a search for "potato pizza pennsylvania" and am brought to this page:

http://www.roadfood.com/F...ato+pizza+pennsylvania

When I try to view pages 2, 3, or 4 of the thread I get the following message:

"403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied."

I am using Windows XP, Firefox 7.0.1. Also tried Internet Explorer 8. No luck.

Just noticed if I goto Thread Options - View Printable page, I can view page 1, and 2. Seems like it works there.

PS - As I typed this, Firefox has an update to browser version 8. That didn't work either.
