Hey Don, where the heck did you find that pic?  Is that a 1959 and A 1960 Caddy?

Hehehe! Joe said 10 ft pole, on Valentine's Day!

If you really "got it" (romance that is) you can pull it off at any venue.

Due to the fact the the prime cuts section needs our support (and their are no WH in the area) I will suck it up, and dine at a NYC steakhouse, this evening, with my honey!

If it came to it, and White Castle was the only available option, we would have a nice romantic evening, at White Castle. It is what you make it...it works when you work it!!

It's from the Waffle House web site.  That's definitely a '59 Caddy on the left, but I think that the other one is newer than 1960.

1960 Cadillac:

I would be perfectly happy with a meal at  WH  on Valentine's Day.  It is who you are with  that matters more than where you are.

I missed Valentine's Day, but I just got back from having pork chops, eggs, grits and toast at a Waffle House. I thought it was quite romantic.

Well said, Greymo...
I don't like those places that jack their prices way up for Valentine's Day...

I suggested to my new guy (new as of a week and a half ago!) that perhaps we could just walk over to the "Red Room" down the street from him.... a simple Italian restaurant, upscale casual, but no crazy jacked up prices..
we shared a caesars salad, pizza, and a chicken francaise....
and we just drank ice water.........as we had plenty of his famous vodka martini's before and after at his house...

Waffle House by candlelight sounds romantic too , though...
almost anything by candlelight sounds nice!

actually - and even funnier - is that Joe said:

Not with a 10" pole

Which is 10 INCH pole.

now, was that a simple typo, or a sort of freudian slip, Joe?

either way, I'm not touching THAT with a 10' pole.

Well, even less impressive is that Joe is in the business of these types of measurements. I know a t from a T in spoons, but I do not walk around with a tape measure, and such measurements escape me, as a woman!!!! Thank you Scorereader for setting the record straight!!

For shame, on you Joe Rogo!!!

I will only give him a pass, since it is Mr. Rogo's 50th Birthday, today, and he is one of my greatest friends in the entire world!!!

Happy Birthday Joe! I have plenty of punches waiting for you, when we dine at White Castle!!

I tease him, because I get away with it! Joe knows his measurements!!!

A great man, and a great sport!

What a guy!!

A belated "Happy birthday," Joe.

How/why/what is it that you are doing that makes those user links in your messages?

I like Waffle House, esp. the grilled chicken, pork chops, scattered and smothereds, and only place that I like raisin toast.  No sweetie for me these days, but I would have been fine with a WH dinner for Valentine's Day.  I cooked a ribeye for dinner, enjoyed it with a nice glass of red wine in the company of my 2 furrry friends who love me no matter what....Simon the tuxedo wearing player (he is entertained for hours chasing a piece of aluminum foil or a marshmallow, and Bella, the Calico wonder cat...she was gone from home 3 months but has returned.

That sounds like fun!! Simon, you playa'!

Glad to hear the Bella has returned home. I bet you and Simon missed her!! Three months is too long to be away from home, and your family!! Unless she was out on a Roadfood trip, with her camera!!! Even then...

She is not telling where she was or where she went, the scoundrel!!  She and Simon are getting acquainted, since he came to live with me while she was  away for her holiday....He does not understand that she was here first, and she sure can give him some killer looks since she wonders why he is here...they fuss and fight and drive me crazy some days...I think they secretly are best friends and like to torment each other only when I am around....if she would  tell me who has the best scraps and leftovers for pets as far as Roadfood is concerned, we would have a book in the making.....I need a cat whisperer.....

Neat picture Don!

Happy BD Joe!

Ellen, sounds like a nice evening!

Peach, I am kinda a cat whisperer although... who really knows what is going on in the mind of a cat. #%&*`^ I would bet that Bella was somehow taken way away from home somehow???... and it took her that long to make her way back.

Oh, my sweety's sister, and her sweety, cooked fried catfish for 40 or so folks on V day. MMM, it was great!

Now I'm hungry for a WH pecan waffle! :~)

I think she may have been hanging around in someone's house and got outside and made her way home, or was outside and we had a really cold few weeks and decided that she wanted to come home. She will not allow anyone to pick her up, so they had to lure her in somehow..just glad she is home, I missed her.  I never dreamed about her until the week before she came home, and I dreamed that she was sitting in her favorite chair when I came home from work.  Maybe she was thinking about coming home at that time.

I didn't have a Valentine's Day meal at Waffle House, but I did have breakfast this past Monday morning at the WH in Owensboro KY ( on my way home from the RF Glee Club gathering in Memphis. ) It's a funny thing; I had country ham breakfasts last weekend at both the Blue & White in Tunica MS, and the Arcade in Memphis. Each time the ham was accompanied by scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, sausage gravy and biscuits. Both of those meals were very good, yet my Waffle house breakfast ( same menu items - I'm a creature of habit ) was better than either of the ones at the mom-an'-pop places. A big national franchised chain turning out better food than a couple of "real" restaurants??? I'm still trying to figure this one out....

Got in a little late... perhaps Joerogo was refering to Big Joe Turner's song:"She loves my big ten inch..... record that plays the blues."
