They say it's not the steak that makes a great Roadfood photo,

it's the sizzle.

Did you know that that waitress enjoys having a few at Nye's and then belting out a wicked  "Won't you come home Bill Bailey"?

TTM-
The only reason that my photo turned out so well in that very dark restaurant was that I clicked my camera just as your flash was going off.  That was one really good meal!

I am still amazed you were able to eat half of that sandwich itself.  I ate 1/4 and that made me feel woozy.

It appears as though this thread has gone dormant, and I hate to leave buffetbuster's beautiful picture unanswered, but I can't resist posting this picture that I found in a Roadfood-reviewed restaurant while on vacation this past week.

You mean you want to give up after only a year!

It's from Toki Ona Diner in Elko, Nevada.  With it being a Basque meal, I thought WJ had the best shot of guessing it.

Being your Facebook friend helps me limit it to where you have been lately, but that could still put it in Seattle, NYC, Philly, Baltimore, DC or North Carolina.  Maybe more.....

I know I hit 7 Basque Restaurants on the Rocky Mountain Highs and Big Skies trip trip I took over 4 years ago, unfortunately , Toki Ona Diner wasn't one of them.

But, at least you would recognize a Basque meal when you see one and would know what part of the country to look in.

Actually the Spaghetti was the dead give away....
I remember going to a Basque Restaurant in Bakersfield CA back in 1996 when I moved from Seattle to Pittsburgh. It was in the dead of winter and my mother was still living in Albuquerque at the time. I wanted to avoid the wintry mountain passes , and Northern California was going through a warm spell, so I took the Southern Route stopping over night in Portland OR (to visit friends), Sacramento CA, Kingman AZ, Abuquerque (two nights), OK City, Tulsa (unexpected overnight due to ice storm) Effingham IL and then Pittsburgh  I don't recall the name of the Basque Restaurant in Bakersfied, it could have been Chalet Basque. Anyway it was the first time (and I'm pretty sure the last) that I had spaghetti served to me at a Basque Restaurant.

Greymo - If you are implying that a sign such as this could never be found in a ladies' room, then you have never met my ex-wife!

billyboy - Le Tub seems almost like too obvious a choice, doesn't it? It is too obvious and incorrect. Also, I am not sure if there has ever been a review for Le Tub.

mlm - My meal here was delicious. The place was far more upscale than its name or this picture might otherwise indicate.

When I lived in France, I once spent 2 weeks vacation in Basque.  Specifically the little mountain village of Itxassou.  The food was beyond belief.  But I never ate nor saw spaghetti.
