Cheeburger Cheeburger - Tue, 06/16/09 12:35 PM

We have one opening up here at UF and was wondering if it's anything I should get excited about.  I thought I had seen it talked about on this forum but can't locate anything.  I'm quite sure it's a chain because that's all we have here.

The original on Sanibel gets a thumbs up from me.  Others I have tried, not so much.

Oh  Rusty, I was not trying to correct you.  I was merely telling you where I found this.  Sorry that you misunderstood.  I should have elaborated.  Sorry.

Hey, Rusty, it did NOT excite ME, anyway...
just my opinion/style..

burgers were very plainly cooked, no searing or char..

GREAT shakes , though!

No offense taken by all means.  I didn't think to look in the fast food forum!  From what I read mostly, they are nothing to write home about and we have two GREAT burger places across the street from campus, Gator City and Copper Monkey.  What surprised me was the cost, especially since it's replacing a Wendy's and this is a college campus, how many of our students can afford to eat there. The two afore mentioned places have hand pattied burgers, you will not go away hungry and they are affordable.  We also have a Chilis and a Moe's on campus and they're sky high too.

CB-CB is definitely a franchise operation.  Several of the CB-CB locations in the Naples/Ft Myers area have closed over the past few months.  However, the original location on Sanibel (mentioned by buffetbuster above) is under original ownership and is still going strong.

When I discovered Cheeburger Cheeburger during a Fort Lauderdale trip in 2004 I ate there four times for lunch. What kept me coming back was I could get Pepperjack cheese on  my burger (plus it was less than a mile away).
When  found that a CB CB opend in Rochester, NY ( 90 min drive) a few years ago I was excited. I've been once. It is very hard to go to CB CB in Rochester when there is Bill Greys/Tom Wahls, Vic and Irvs, Nick Tahou's and Don's Original to choose from.
Go give it a try. Nothing great but not terrible either.

The one in Wesrfield NJ closed last year. If overpriced crappy upscale fast food can't make it in Westfield it won't make it anywhere.

My grandgirls love Cheeburger Cheeburger. We always order the semi-serious cooked medium (they only cook med, med well and well) and a large order of Frings (onion rings and fries). I actually like the burgers and the onion rings are great.

I like your choice of words, Ken..
I found their burgers bland; I like a decent char or sear...
some people like them plainly cooked, of course.. to each his own

They just closed one franchise in Chadd's Ford Pa on Rt202. I never did get a chance to stop in.

There's one in Cherry Hill on Route 70 I've been to once. I thought it was good. It didn't make me jump up and down, but it was good. I'll have to bring my burger partner and see what he thinks. He hasn't tried them yet. We passed one near the Quakerbridge Mall on Father's Day that we should've gone to instead of the putrid diner in Princeton that we DID go to...but that's another thread.
