It is being announced by all the local media outlets here that Brett Favre will sign with the Vikings this afternoon. Help us all...

I honestly didn't think I could like the Vikings any less, but apparently I was wrong.

I've been close to it for a while, but I now officially suffer from Favre fatigue.

I think I also have a full case of that disease as well as allergy-to-Michael-Vick-articles, whether for or against his return.

This makes me want to unretire too.   I'd love to be back at work if only to trash talk in the office during breaks, lunches and happy hours with all the expatriate cheeseheads who work in the Twin Cities.

After I retired from full-time work (in High Schools and Colleges) I stayed out a couple of years, then took on an evening division class at the college where I had been an administrator during my earlier career here in Indiana. I taught a Psych class one night a week during the winter semester each year from 2002 to 2007. At that point I really had 'had enough'. Several of my former students and employees are now in leadership positions in that college, and while I enjoy the discussion of "old-times" I find that it is time for me to leave that 'era' with fond memories.
I think the celebs may find that concept to be desireable...but of course their financial situation may have a greater impact on them (and their egos) than did mine!

Retirment ain't all it is cracked up to be.  I retired about four years ago and stayed that way about four months.  I took a job as a consultant for another pharma business which was suppose to be a couple of months.  That couple of months has now turned into four years.

When you are retired for me at least, when you are idle, it turns into to something that is not the best..  My wife died, I drank way too much and this gig has really been good for me.

I worked 43 years in the pharma industry and I did very good.  I retired, got  SS, retirement, 401K and was doing just fine but my habits were not good.  I am glad and I can see why Farve wants to return.  Farming does not do it.

I'm not sure that playing for the Vikes is a good idea for Favre. I get the feeling that the Packer defense may do a little "head-hunting" when they play them.

The Vikings will beat the Packers in both games this year. The Cheeseheads will be crying in their Leinie beers.

As for unretirement it would be so I could talk like that in person. I guess I'll have to settle for the internet.

My retirement is just the opposite. I wonder how I managed before not being retired with so many things on my plate to do. I'm not getting everything I set out to do done this year. The outdoor brick bread and pizza oven is the big unfinished item. Then again I've already been on the road in our campervan for 7 weeks and will be heading out for another 5 week stretch tomorrow. We have a huge bucket list.

This may be one of the kinder #4 jerseys at Lambeau this year.

I wish Brent well.  But I'm looking forward to Farve's offensive teammates all getting hurt and leaving him scrambling for his life.

$25,000,000 / 2 years = $12.5 million / 20 games = $625,000 per game, now we're talking real money.

They can't make and sell Favre #4 Viking jerseys fast enough. I'm sure the vendors who jumped the gun a few weeks ago are breathing a sigh of relief. I'm enjoying the rivalry. In the Twin Cities with so many cheesehead expats it has always been fun. This will only heat it up. The Vikings have already recouped the money they are paying Brett Favre. That's the owner's bottom line. The fans are going to love the rivalry on both sides.

Stupid Reebok and NFL.  I tried "Douche Bag" and "Butt Wipe" and they rejected my jersey order.

The Vikings said they're a team of integrity and goals, and they wanted Brett Favre to give them a decision by the end of this week.  Because Sunday is the start of their annual hooker boat party.

Training camp is over and now it's the preseason.  Guess his workouts with the high school players in Mississippi were just as rigorous as an NFL camp.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper front page headlines reads Favre Fevre and there is a special 6 page section covering him.

Nah! You're mistaking relief for being upset. He'll come in, zip the ball, win some games. The weather gets colder and his passes increasingly go to the other team while he says, "I was just trying to make things happen." Later, the team is torn apart as players find he is not a team player but only interested in his own stats, while following his own set of rules.
Nope, he's all yours and you are more than welcome to him. Signing with the Vikes is the best thing that happened to Packer fans all year as we all worried about a maturing Tavaris.

Report: Eagles interested in Brett Favre
Posted by Mike Florio on July 23, 2011, 11:09 PM EDT
  Ugh.
Let me repeat that.

Ugh.
Howard Eskin of WIP radio in Philly reports that the Eagles could sign quarterback Brett Favre as a backup to Mike Vick, after Kevin Kolb is shipped out of town.
Sources told Eskin, who serves as a sideline reporter for the team’s radio broadcasts, that it’s “possible” the Eagles will sign Favre.
The move would reunite Favre with Andy Reid, who was an assistant with the Packers before becoming a head coach in 1999.
There was a rumor making the rounds last week that Favre had approached the Seahawks about possibly becoming the successor to Matt Hasselbeck, a move that makes sense given the arrival of former Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell as offensive coordinator. The Seahawks supposedly declined. (The Seahawks privately are denying that any of this happened.)
In Philly, Favre would be the safety valve in the event Mike Vick gets injured or regresses. A master of the West Coast offense, Favre would provide a major upgrade over Mike Kakfa. Plus, it would give Favre another chance to ride off into the sunset with a Lombardi Trophy in his pocket, even if he has to pry it from Mike Vick’s hands.

Setting aside all the BS about him and a possible return via 'Da Bears'... What a fun game for us to vent a piss-poor year's frustrations (and not just concerning football or politics, or anything else in specific) in a screaming raging fit , blaming Farve for everything from Global Warming to the lack of curiosity on the part of today's American Youth.   Yeah, Bring him Back...then hang a bulleye target on him and send him out to "PLAY BALL"!!!
