Look at the toolbar at the top of the screen and you will see a new tool: "The Roadfood Insider." Here you will find Roadfood Maps and the Logbook – features we believe will dramatically increase the usefulness of the information on this site. Have a look and see if they are as helpful to you as they have been to us in the testing stages.
The Roadfood Logbook feature allows Jane and me and Stephen to log every restaurant eating experience we have – good, bad, and indifferent. Some experiences will eventually become reviews, some won't. Here you will learn about great meals as well as horrible ones. We can point out those Roadfood restaurants that have great dishes and some dishes never to be ordered again. Contents of the logbook will be updated almost every day, and once it gets rolling, the logbook will be available for all Roadfood Insider subscribers to contribute their own entries and create their own Roadfood diaries for future reference.
Every registered Roadfood user will have free access to these features until January 30th; after that, they will be available to those who subscribe to The Roadfood Insider ($19.95 for a year – about the cost of a Roadfood meal for two). Subscribers will also be able to download a template for Microsoft Streets and trips that includes all Roadfood restaurants, gas stations, hotels, and landmarks along any route in the U.S.A.
