Last night our family ate at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA. Lovely setting in this historic building, fantastic service. The food is just so so; maybe we ordered the wrong things. The chicken pot pie was just ok, the baked ham pretty good. It is nice cuz you get cheese and crackers and homemade very good muffins with the meal, and an app, main and dessert is just 20 dollars on sunday night; a real bargain. THe indian pudding rivals Durgin Park; highly recommended. It is an experience I would recommend, esp on a nice day,the Grist Mill is very picturesque. There is an old timey tavern in there too. I think if you ordered prime rib or roast duck it would be verygood, along with clam chowder app and indian pudding a la mode dessert. I would try that next time. beth grd

Beth, that is good to hear. Years ago, Jane and I did an Indian Pudding round-up for Yankee magazine and I remember rating the Wayside Inn's very highly.

Sounds like a stop I'll have to make on my tour of New England this summer!

My buddy had his wedding there back in 1981, they were married in the little chapel on the hill, then picked up and driven off in a horse-drawn carriage.  Very cool, and a beautiful stting for a summer wedding.  We had the rehearsal dinner at the Wayside Inn, I had the prime rib and I recall it was pretty good, and it was my first time having indian pudding.

I haven't enjoyed Indian Pudding for years. I miss it as a great Fall treat. Howard Johnson's served a good Indian Pudding (canned under their own brand name). A small bowl with a single scoop of vanilla Ice Cream on top made it one of my favorites back in those 'college days'.

My one and only experience with Indian pudding was at Palmers in Andover, Mass. I have been haunted by it now for years!!
