Two types of Schlitz. The good one is the old pre-1960's recipe. It has much more of a hops flavor than most and is quite good. The brand is now owned by Pabst which no longer has any physical breweries. All their beers are contracted out. I think distribuation is mainly in the Midwest, primarily Chicago and Milwaukee. Very good beer.
I was so surprised when I had the old Schlitz
recently (which I believe was at your suggestion, MFL, at Christies!). I was expecting a Budwiser-esque or Miller-esque type deal (which are not my favorites, too light in flavor for me). But this new-old Schlitz
really is good. I say "new-old" because they only recently dusted off the old recipe for production once again, about 2 years ago or so.
