Bye Bye Big Town
-
Sat, 04/5/03 2:55 PM
I'm certainly not a big fan of mass-produced desserts, even here in Tastykake country, but still saddened to learn that a favorite from my childhood has been discontinued. Who remembers The Big Town by Lance? Yummy marshmallow stuffed between two large chocolate coated cookies!!! If I was hungry, I'd always add one to my elementary school lunch for an extra TEN CENTS!! The Lance people were nice enough to e-mail me back saying production stopped several years ago. Now, my favorite cheap treats are the Lance Oatmeal Cookies, stuffed with a really sweet marshmallow filling. They cost 25 cents!!! I better stock up, 'cause you never know!!! (OOPS! This isn't a pizza post. Sorry!)

I do not know what you were use to but my advice is to change to a "Moonpie and a RC Cola" ASAP Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

The complete formula, courtesy of my late, sainted mother, is, I believe: "Have an RC Cola And a Moon Pah And Sang 'Maple on the Hill'"

Yes, those Big Towns aren't too different than Moon Pies...thanks for the association.
